Our Bridge to Hope program applies a holistic relational approach to serving the homeless community of Collin County. Our innovative service solutions, built on a foundation of case management and collaboration with service providers, enable our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness to develop a pathway to a stable safe living environment.

A unique feature of HRM’s service model is that we intentionally seek to develop a sense of relationship with our clients, in which they are treated as individuals, rather than as “cases” to be worked. We train our volunteers and staff to be nonjudgmental and to acknowledge each person’s life story as being of unique value.

The reason that we are relational in our approach is that we know based on our experience from serving hundreds of clients, that the key to motivating them to progress through their action plans is that they feel that they have a relationship with their case manager in which they are fully heard, their experiences validated, and they know that they are not “just a number” in the system.

Overcoming homelessness is a very difficult uphill climb but with concrete action plans that case managers create with clients, their sense of self-worth is cultivated and with a renewed sense of purpose, they are motivated to persevere. Hope is restored.

We seek to serve those who have been marginalized and neglected, by equipping them with the tools they need to overcome barriers so that they can access the stability and safety that we all need. We help anyone who walks through our doors; we do not have any prerequisite or qualifying factors for service.
